COMMERCIAL
-Globalworth, the leading real estate company in Central and Eastern Europe with a focus on Poland and Romania, has obtained the LEED certification for the Globalworth Tower Center International (TCI) project, Bucharest’s fourth-tallest office building.
-Mamaia, a resort on the Romanian Black Sea shore, will host the first Radisson Blu Hotel, a project to be developed by Monarc Properties, a Romanian company with experience in construction and real estate development with advanced skills and a consistent residential portfolio.
-Eight out of ten Gen Z employees in Romania spend their free time with their teammates, with social relationships in the office being a key factor for many of them in choosing or keeping a job, according to a survey conducted by Genesis Property among 1,247 respondents nationwide.
CONSTRUCTION
-In April 2024, Romanian authorities issued 3,578 residential building permits, up 17.8% on an monthly basis and up 33.7% on an annual basis, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed.
-Cluj County Council announced that the president of the institution, Alin Tise, issued the construction permit for the Cluj metro. When opened, it will become Romania’s second mass transit network after the Bucharest Metro. Cluj-Napoca or simply Cluj is the second-most populous city in Romania and the seat of Cluj County in the northwestern part of the country.
REGULATION
Romania’s Competition Council has started a study on the residential and non-residential real estate market in Bucharest, in order to identify possible barriers for growth in the industry and also aspects that can mislead consumers. “At the end of the analysis, the Competition Council will issue proposals and recommendations to eliminate the identified problems“, read a press release of the authority.
