INDUSTRIAL

Romania’s industrial market is going through a period of significant growth and development. In 2022, total demand for industrial space in Romania exceeded the record set the previous year by 15.6%, reaching almost 1.17 million m² leased. In the same period, net demand increased by 28.7% to almost 935,500 m², according to real estate consulting firm JLL.

RESIDENTIAL

Belgium-based real estate developer Speedwell has contracted financing worth EUR24.3 million from lender BRD Groupe Societe Generale in order to construct two new green residential buildings in the city of Timisoara, in western Romania.

LOGISTICS

Belgium’s logistics developer WDP will build a logistics center on an area of 6,200 square meters in Almaj, Dolj County on the border with Bulgaria, in a EUR4.5 million investment. The building will operate as a distribution center for the Erkut, a supplier of the car manufacturer Ford, with a factory in Craiova, the fifth largest Romanian city.

RETAIL

Brico Dépôt was recognized as a Top Employer in 2023 by the Top Employers Institute in the Netherlands, being the first DYI retailer with this title in Romania.
