RESIDENTIAL
-Romania saw 57,021 real estate deals last month, 11,303 more than in June 2024 and 6,290 more than in July 2023, according to data provided by the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising (ANCPI). In Bucharest, 19% more homes were sold in July 2024 compared to the same month a year ago. A total of 4,521 units were sold in the Romanian capital last month. Next was Cluj (898), Ilfov (895), Constanța (860) Brașov (827) and Timis (825 houses and apartments sold in July 2024).
-KESZ Romania has received the building permit for the housing compound Corallis, its first Bucharest project, in which the Hungarian builder is investing over EUR51 million.
-Real estate developer HILS Development witnessed a 28% growth in apartment sales in all its six completed or in development projects in the first half of 2024, the company said.
OFFICE
Infineon Technologies has signed Romania’s largest office pre-lease in the last five years : 20,000 Sq.m in a building to be developed by One United Properties in the Pipera area in northern Bucharest, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox announced.
FINANCE
-The Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) has approved One United’s €70 million share capital increase prospectus. The Bucharest-listed green developer of residential, mixed-use, and office real estate, aims to raise 70 million euros to finance the company’s next growth phase by issuing 1.750.000.000 new shares.
-ING Bank has revised its growth forecast for the Romanian economy in 2024 to 2% from its previous estimate of 2.8%
-In the first half of 2024, as against the same period of the previous year, Romania’s Gross Domestic Product increased by 0.7 % for the unadjusted series and by 1,5% for the seasonally adjusted series, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed.
