Romania celebrates two consecutive public holidays: The Feast of St Andrew, also called St Andrew’s Day (Ziua Sfântului Andrei) on Nov. 30, to honor the country’s patron saint and National Day (Ziua Națională), or Great Union Day (Ziua Marii Uniri) on December 1, marking the unification of Transylvania, Bessarabia, and Bukovina with the Romanian Kingdom in 1918.
