STATISTICS

-The volume of construction works increased, in January-August 2022, by 6.6% as unadjusted series, and by 4.5% as workday and seasonally adjusted series y-o-y, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data show.

-Over 60,000 houses sold throughout Romania in September, most of them in Bucharest, Ilfov and Timis, the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising (ANCPI) announced.

-The self-storage market is a new business segment in Romania and has reached 25,000 rentable square meters in 2022, CBRE says.

-Developers acquired land plots to build over 30,000 residential units in Bucharest in the past 2.5 years, according to the Cushman & Wakefield Echinox real estate consultancy company.

COMPANIES

-Cushman & Wakefield Echinox has appointed Bogdan Marcu as Partner Capital Markets and Dana Radoveneanu as Head of Retail Agency.

-Swedish cable company Contac Solutions established a branch in Romania and plans to build a cable factory in the western part of the country at Arad.
