BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA
In Q2 2024, the number of new dwellings sold in Bosnia grew by 9.2% to 939 on an annual basis. The average sale price per square metre of the new sold dwellings increased by 9.5% to 2,851 marka (EUR1458) while the usable floor area of the new dwellings sold in the period under review was 8.8% higher in comparison with April-June 2023.
BULGARIA
In the first half of this year, approximately 92.6 million euros were invested in business properties in Bulgaria, data from Colliers International revealed. Over 77% of this amount came from a single transaction involving a portfolio of industrial and logistics properties, as well as construction plots.
CROATIA
The number of building permits issued in Croatia increased by 19.8% to 948 in June on an annual basis, according to the country’s statistical office. On a monthly basis, building permits decreased to 948 units in June from 962 units in May of 2024. Building permits averaged 764.66 units from 2010 until 2024, reaching an all time high of 1211.00 units in March of 2023 and a record low of 377.00 units in January of 2015.
CYPRUS
In July, the total number of property sales to the Cypriot market rose 34% on an annual basis and accounted for 60% of the total number of sales in the month, according to the latest analysis of sales contracts issued by the Department of Lands and Surveys. The total number of property sales to the overseas market (both EU and non-EU citizens) last month stood at 657 up 7% compared to July 2023.
GREECE
A further increase in the minimum invested amount required for foreigners to obtain a Golden Visa has boosted house sales, especially in the port city of Piraeus, Kathimerini reported. From September 1, the minimum investment requirement for Golden Visas will increase significantly, reaching €800,000 in the northern and southern suburbs of Athens and the municipalities of Thessaloniki, Mykonos and Santorini, as well as on islands with a population exceeding 3,100. In other areas, it will rise from €250,000 to €400,000.
MOLDOVA
Moldova’s total construction output was unchanged in annual terms in January-June 2024, the country’s statistical office said. The volume of maintenance and current repair works increased by an annual 16.8% during the first half of this year, while capital repair works decreased by 19.3%. New constructions grew by 4.2%, whereas other construction works fell by 24.5% on the year.
